Netflix’s ‘Nobody Wants This’ Cast Reveals Why Seemingly Everybody Wants This Kind Of Show – On The Go With Deadline

Nobody Wants This? Think again.

The title might suggest otherwise, but Netflix’s breakout rom-com from creator Erin Foster has quickly become one of the year’s most talked-about shows. Season 1 spent six weeks on Netflix’s Global English Top 10 TV List and cracked the Top 10 in a total of 89 countries.

So, why is the show connecting so strongly with audiences? That depends on who you ask.

During a recent stop at Netflix’s FYSEE L.A. event at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, I caught up with stars Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Timothy Simons and Jackie Tohn to get their takes for the latest episode of On the Go with Deadline.

“Seeing Adam Brody and Kristen Bell kiss is a big deal,” Simons joked, with a bashful Brody standing beside him. “It’s really incredible.”

“We did, I believe, capture some tingles,” Brody, who plays the offbeat rabbi Noah, admitted about his romantic chemistry with co-lead Bell.

“Everyone wants to fall in love,” Bell, who plays the agnostic podcast host Joanne, added. “But the reality is, people are on dating apps, they’re annoying, they’re in their 40s, and they’re still dating. And someone’s out there for you.”

With the series being viewed a whopping 57 million times from its release last September through the end of 2024, it’s safe to assume Foster’s unique storytelling approach in portraying modern relationships for “people of a certain age” will only continue the conversation when Season 2 of the Netflix series returns October 23.
