
Leslie Odom, Jr. (Hamilton, One Night in Miami…) has been tapped for a recurring role on Imperfect Women, Apple TV+‘s upcoming limited series starring and executive produced by Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington.
The series, written by Annie Weisman based on Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name, is a psychological thriller examining a crime that shatters the lives of a decades-long friendship of three women. Imperfect Women is a mystery complicated by perspective that explores guilt and retribution, love and betrayal, and the compromises we make that alter our lives irrevocably. As the investigation unravels, so does the truth about how even the closest relationships can change over time.
Odom will recur as Donovan. In addition to Moss and Washington, the series also stars Kate Mara, Joel Kinnaman and Corey Stoll.
Imperfect Women, a co-production between 20th Television and Apple Studios, is executive produced by Weisman and Hall as well as Moss and Lindsey McManus via their production company Love & Squalor Pictures, who initially optioned the book. Washington executive produces for Simpson Street alongside Pilar Savone. Lesli Linka Glatter is directing the pilot and executive producing. Kay Oyegun is also writing and executive producing.
Odom, Jr. is a Tony and Grammy-winning, Emmy and Oscar-nominated actor and songwriter. He is known for his breakout role as Aaron Burr in the Broadway musical Hamilton. He will join fellow alums for the Hamilton original cast performance at the Tony Awards on Sunday ahead of his return to his award-winning role September 9 through November 23.
Last season, Odom Jr. starred in and produced Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch on Broadway, which earned six Tony nominations, including one for Odom Jr.’s performance, and was televised by PBS. An Oscar nominee for One Night in Miami, Odom Jr. also starred in Rian Johnson’s 2022 Knives Out sequel, Glass Onion, for Netflix and has been recurring on ABC’s Abbott Elementary.
