The 2025 Tony Awards are officially underway in New York City, with Broadway veterans and Hollywood legends flooding Radio City Music Hall dressed in their very finest.
Between Cynthia Erivo’s turn as host and a hotly anticipated Hamilton reunion, the 78th Tonys already promised plenty of excitement—and that’s to say nothing of the face-offs between Nicole Scherzinger and Audra McDonald; Cole Escola and George Clooney; and Death Becomes Her, Buena Vista Social Club, and Maybe Happy Ending, each of which recieved 10 nominations. Upping the ante, however, were the show-stopping red carpet looks.
We wouldn’t expect a crowd of Broadway stars to be anything less than theatrical, and the red carpet did not disappoint. While Escola paid homage to Bernadette Peters in a beaded Wiederhoeft number, Scherzinger channeled Old Hollywood in a red Rodarte dress. Erivo, meanwhile, dazzled us in a structural Schiaparelli two-piece. And, while she attended to support her nominee husband, George, Amal Clooney’s pearl-adorned dress stole the show.
