The Taormina Film Festival has named its 2025 winners.
Wrapping up the 71st edition of the Sicilian-based festival, Saturday’s awards ceremony culminated in the big honor, Premio Migliore Film (Best Film Award), going to Argentinian director Axel Monsú’s For Your Sake.
Premio Migliore Regia (Best Director Award) was awarded to Alex Garland and Ray Mendoza for A24’s Warfare.
The Premio Migliora Attrice (Best Actress Award) went to Ebada Hassan for her performance in director Nadia Fall’s Brides. Geoffrey Rush, who was also honored with the festival’s Excellence Award, won the Premio Migliore Attore (Best Actor Award) for director James Ashcroft’s The Rule of Jenny Pen.
This year’s festival also honored Martin Scorsese, Michael Douglas, Olivia Wilde, Helen Hunt, Catherine Deneuve and Monica Bellucci with awards.
The international jury was led by Oscar-winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph, with panel support from British actor Rupert Everett, 3x Oscar-winning costume designer Sandy Powell and more. Lionsgate’s John Wick spinoff Ballerina opened the festival.
