Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour has got off to a rocky start, with reports of low ticket sales and scenes of crowd violence, but insiders exclusively tell In Touch that she’s staying positive and getting tons of support from husband Jay-Z as well as her three young kids.

“It’s very upsetting and quite frankly shocking that the tickets are not selling out as fast as they have in the past,” the source says. “Everyone on team Beyoncé is insisting it’s not the dire situation that social media is trying to make it out to be, still it’s very stressful.”

Beyoncé, 43, kicked off her 32-date stadium tour in Los Angeles in late April to promote her Cowboy Carter album. However, ticket sales have been unexpectedly slow compared to her previous tours, which typically sold out quickly. The tour, which will also visit Europe before concluding in Las Vegas on July 26, has seen thousands of tickets reportedly still available as showtime approaches.

“Beyoncé has very high standards and is used to not only selling out but selling out very quickly, so no doubt this is a huge dose of humble pie for her,” the insider explains. “She didn’t show any sort of distress or worry on opening night though, she was every bit the superstar and fully in her Sasha Fierce alter ego.”

While Beyoncé is no stranger to rocking the stage with her eldest daughter, 13-year-old Blue Ivy, whom she shares with Jay-Z, 55, this year’s performance features a special moment marking the stage debut of her younger daughter, Rumi, 7.

“Having Blue Ivy and Rumi on stage with her took a ton of her attention. She was fussing over them the whole night and very much the stage mother,” the source concludes. “Jay-Z was there to support her backstage too, he knows exactly what to say to help boost her up and get her ready to face the crowd. She’s very happy with the way the show went and so were the fans, so she’s focused on that.”

Beyoncé has faced a lot of controversy since entering the country music genre. Although the hitmaker received zero nominations from the Country Music Association at the 58th CMA Awards in 2024, Beyoncé did take home Best Country Album at the 2025 Grammys.

In the past, Jay-Z has famously called out the recording academy for failing to recognize his wife in the Album of the Year category despite four prior nominations. He made the bold statement while accepting the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award at the 2024 Grammys Awards.

“I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has the most Grammys than everyone and never won Album of the Year,” the Brooklyn, New York, native pointed out as Beyoncé watched from the audience. “So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work. Think about that. The most Grammys. Never won Album of the Year. That doesn’t work.”

Beyoncé was nominated for Album of the Year for 2008’s I Am… Sasha Fierce, 2013’s Beyoncé, 2016’s Lemonade and 2022’s Renaissance. In those years she was respectively beaten by Taylor Swift’s Fearless, Beck’s Morning Phase, Adele’s 25 and Harry Styles’ Harry’s House.
