It’s official — Thalia Besson has closed her deal to reprise the role of Genevieve on the upcoming fifth season of Netflix‘s popular comedy series Emily In Paris. Once again, she will be recurring, sources said.

Besson is the second Season 4 new cast addition that is coming back for more, along with Eugenio Franceschini as Emily’s (Lily Collins) new love interest Marcello.

Genevieve is the second American character currently on the show, created and executive produced by Darren Star, alongside Emily. She was introduced as Laurent’s daughter born out of wedlock and Sylvie’s stepdaughter who had been raised in the U.S.. Genevieve came to visit looking for a job in Paris and was brought by Sylvie into her Agence Grateau where Emily took her under her win to mentor her. However, the ambitious Genevieve had her own motives, and she also went after Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) when he broke up with Emily.

Netflix announced in April that production on Season 5 would start in May — first in Rome and then in Paris — for a 2025 premiere. Also returning are Season 4 series regulars Collins (Emily Cooper), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie Grateau), Ashley Park (Mindy Chen), Bravo (Gabriel), Samuel Arnold (Julien), Bruno Gouery (Luc) and William Abadie (Antoine Lambert) as well as Lucien Laviscount as Emily’s former boyfriend Alfie, who, as Deadline reported exclusively in January, will be back full-time next season.

“I think we’ve got a really terrific season coming up,” Star told Deadline earlier this week. “We filmed in Rome for the first four weeks, and that was an exciting experience to be there. Now we’re back in Paris, Emily is definitely back in Paris.”

Besson’s previous credits include Dangerous Waters and Arthur, malédiction. She was most recently seen in When I’m Ready.
