L.A.’s Donaldson Callif Perez, a leader in the world of rights clearances and independent production, has elevated attorneys Madison Karsenty and Alexandre Yousefzadeh to Partner effective this week.

Karsenty joined the firm in 2021 with a strong background in legal production for marketing and unscripted productions. At DCP, she’s worked on a variety of financing and development deals, running production legal, and handling clearance reviews for many of the firm’s premiere clients such as Hartbeatr, Lady and Bird, Mighty Entertainment, MGX, Film Independent, Women in Film and Madhouse.

Yousefzadeh has been with the firm since 2015, handling high-profile transactions for A-list talent and companies and advising clients through various stages of dealmaking across the practice. He has served as legal counsel for Rory Kennedy and Mark Bailey’s Moxie Films, White Horse Pictures, Bungalow Media + Entertainment, XTR/Asteria, Sidestilt Films and Matt Tyrnauer’s Altimeter Films, among others.

DCP represents independent producers and production companies of film, television, and web-based content.

“I’m honored to be named a partner at Donaldson Callif Perez, alongside my colleague and close friend Alex Yousefzadeh. It has been a privilege to grow within a firm so deeply committed to supporting independent filmmakers and content creators across all stages of production,” said Karsenty. “I look forward to continuing to contribute to the firm’s mission of championing bold, original storytelling.”

Yousefzadeh started at the firm as an intern a decade ago and since then, he said,
“I’ve had the privilege of working with extraordinary filmmakers and storytellers, supported by a team that leads with integrity and purpose.”

“Madison and Alex have become trusted leaders in the field through their zealous advocacy for artists and deep passion for the independent film community, and we look forward to this next chapter of building on the firm’s foundational mission – to help artists tell stories their way,” added partner Chris Perez.
