EXCLUSIVE: Baby Driver, Born on the Fourth of July and AMC series Moonhaven comprise a wealth of new content coming to Tubi UK one year after launch.
The Fox-owned AVoD streamer has struck deals with AMC Networks, Sony and NBCUniversal (NBCU) as 1,000 films and TV episodes are added to its library.
Big hits like Baby Driver and Born on the Fourth of July arrive as part of the deal along with movies including Sony’s The Da Vinci Code and NBCU’s The Last House on the Left.
TV shows coming from AMC include True Crime Story, Supa Girlz and The Son. Content from New Regency and Lionsgate already features on the platform.
“Since launching nearly a year ago in the UK, Tubi has doubled its library size, cementing its position as offering the biggest collection of free movies and TV series in the UK,” said Ross Appleton, General Manager, UK, at Tubi. “With rising costs and fragmentation in streaming, Tubi will continue to offer viewers extensive content choice and a highly personalized viewing experience.”
Tubi’s UK launch was a big moment for the streamer last summer.
It kicked off with more than 20,000 movies and TV episodes and said today this has doubled since. Speaking to Deadline last year, CEO Anjali Sud said Tubi wants to attract “fandoms, communities and in some cases underestimated audiences” with its UK offering.
