
EXCLUSIVE: WME has signed Oscar-winning writer and director Brian Helgeland for representation in all areas.
Helgeland won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for L.A. Confidential, the classic 1997 James Ellroy adaptation for Warner Bros, which was also nominated for Best Picture and seven other awards. In 2004, he garnered a second nomination for writing Mystic River, Clint Eastwood’s Warner Bros drama, bqsed on the novel by Dennis Lehane, which starred Sean Peann, Tim Robbins, Kevin Bacon and more.
Helgeland has written and directed a number of other acclaimed films, including A Knight’s Tale starring Heath Ledger, Legend starring Tom Hardy, and 42, the Jackie Robinson biopic starring Chadwick Boseman. His screenwriting credits span iconic titles such as Man on Fire, Conspiracy Theory, Green Zone, and The Taking of Pelham 123.
Helgeland’s latest project, Finestkind, a crime thriller starring Ben Foster, Tommy Lee Jones, and Jenna Ortega, premiered at TIFF and was released by Paramount+. The multi-hyphenate continues to be represented by Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
